TAPS: David Chong Fook Leong

David Chong Fook Leong, 78, of Kailua, HI, passed away peacefully in his home on October 2, 2024. David was born to Cecilia and Sum Chook Leong on November 30, 1945, in Honolulu. In 1963 he joined the United States Air Force. He is a veteran of foreign wars in Vietnam as a jet engine mechanic. In 1968, David married Gwendolyn Aulani Leong. They had six children and raised them in Waimanalo. In 2005 he retired from the Hawaii Air National Guard after a long career as in jet engine maintenance.
He survived by six children, 20 grandchildren, and 14 great-grand- children. Camille Lindsey (Ted) Zachariah, Chynna, Azariah and Amaya. Karla Hamocon (Lance) Keoki Limahai (Alana) Ayva-Leilana, Kyah-Rae, Aila-Jane, and Kenna. Kiana Limahai (Allen Lovell) Keli’i, Manoa, and Kahiau. Aimee Pa’ahao, Puameole Paahao, Cody Beck, Alika Leong, Branden Leong, and Ho’ona Pa’ahao (Elizabeth Tallett) Robert Pa’ahao. Brandie Waugh (Mark) Tatum Leong Waugh, Layla Ries, Ka’ohinani Sato (Isaac) Piata and Auri Coco. Thomas Malone, Alia Ka’aiali’i and Saint Malone. Dana Faust (David) Daizsa, Dailynn, Dayanee and Dawson. Lastly, David Leong Jr., David III, Michael, Gwendolyn.
