Born in Opihikao, he was a retired Captain from the Hilo Airport Crash, Fire and Rescue, veteran of U.S. Marine Corps and Hawaii Army National Guard and member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pepeekeo Sportsman Club, Disabled American Veterans, and Pahoa Higashi Machi Kumiai.
Visitation from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church; wake service at 5 p.m. All-night vigil follows at the family residence in Pahoa. Visitation again from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo; prayer service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. Casual attire.
