Taps: Haruo Shigezawa (Updated)
Posted on Jul 22, 2017 in TapsHaruo Shigezawa, 82, of Honolulu, passed away on June 16, 2017. Born in Wailuku, Maui, he was a graduate of Baldwin High School and went on to receive a B.A. from the University of Hawai’i and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Later, he attended the Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. Haruo was a retired Purchasing Administrator for the City & County of Honolulu. He was also a Vietnam veteran who served in the Hawai’i Army National Guard and retired as a Brigadier General.
He is survived by wife Ruth, son Glenn (Eri), and daughters Jodie, Nadine (Jim) and Dawn. He also had five grandchildren, Bradley, Spencer, Hunter, Riley and Connor; and seven surviving brothers and sisters. Service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church, 1639 Ke’eaumoku Street.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m.; Services: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church. Inurnment: 3:00 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, LLC
