New Chiefs: As reported in the March 2017 issue of the Kūkā‘ilimoku, Lee C. Sonomura and Edward M. Tang became the HIANG’s newest Chiefs at a March 1, 2017 ceremony at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.

Chief Sonomura served in the communications area for his many years in the HIANG.

Chief Tang serves in the 154th Logistics Readiness Squadron.  He is a second-generation Chief – his father CMSgt Rolland Tang served many years in the 154th Wing.

Congratulations to both new Chiefs – well-deserved promotions.

Immigrant Women Veterans Sought for Book: If you are a woman veteran who was born in another country, you could be part of the next book by widely published author Fiona Citkin. Dr. Citkin is seeking to interview foreign-born women veterans from a wide range of countries and from all walks of life. Interviews may be conducted by e-mail, over the phone, and/or in person. The goal of the book series is to examine the special challenges of female immigrants in the US (military). NGAUS Scholarships for Graduate Programs: The University of Phoenix in association with the National Guard Association of the United States is offering three (3) full-tuition scholarships. A complete application, and supporting documentation, must be received on, or before, April 11, 2017 at 11:30pm Eastern Time.
