George S. McEldowney, 100, of Honolulu, a retired construction superintendent in Hilo and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died in Honolulu on September 20, 2016. He was born in Honolulu.

He is survived by son Robert S.; daughters Lois Dyer and Holly and Janis McEldowney; sister Mary Evenson; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
