Taps: Rudolph “Rudy” Quezon Luat
Posted on Feb 28, 2016 in TapsRudolph “Rudy” Quezon Luat, 84, of Pearl City, a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, passed away at home on February 2, 2016. Rudy was born in Honolulu on July 16, 1931.
He graduated from Farrington High School, then went on to serve forty-two years in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard as an aircraft mechanic. His service took him all over the world. Rudy loved traveling, golfing, bowling, fishing, and ballroom dancing. He served as President of the Pan Pacific Ballroom Dance Society from 2001 until December 2015. Rudy loved life; especially his family, friends and dogs.
He is survived by son Michael (Cindy) Luat; four grandchildren: Kalanikiekie (Roychell) Luat, Kaleimakaalii (Dawn) Luat, Kamakea Luat, and Shea Ledbetter; and five great-grandchildren: Kawailani, Kehaulani, Kalanikiekie, Kaulana, Kylie Rose Luat; and many nieces and nephews. Rudy is preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Nasis) Luat, parents Modesto Luat and Paula Quezon, and his twelve siblings. Rudy will truly be missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rudy’s life on Thursday, March 3 at Mililani Mortuary Makai chapel. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM and service at 11:00 AM, with reception and burial to follow at Mililani Memorial Park. Aloha attire, flowers welcome.
