J1 Manpower and Personnel Directorate

Responsible for the administration and management of the personnel systems of the NG. This directorate provides guidance and counsel to staff elements and subordinate units regarding all personnel matters. It develops, interprets, integrates, and implements human resources programs and policies for the traditional service members, Active Guard Reserve, technician work force, and their families and employers.
