JCC Welcome Letter,
Posted on Aug 8, 2024 in JCCAloha, we are excited to officially welcome you to the 2024 Hawai’i National Guard Joint Commanders Conference at Deyson Cariaga Auditorium, 298th Multi-Functional Training Regiment (MFTR), in Waimanalo, Hawai’i. Conference start time is 0800 on Thursday, 12 September 2024.
The focus of the conference is to ensure HING Senior Leaders have a common understanding of current information concerning the strategic environment and have achieved common understanding of how the HING supports the broader State, Theater, and National Strategic Goals. Day 1 will be focused on Strategic Occupation in USINDOPACOM AOR and Day 2 will be focused on Homeland Defense and Resiliency.

1) Registration & Lodging: Conference registration desk will be located in the 298th MFTR Dining Facility (DFAC) on Thursday, 12 September from 0700-0800. Wristbands will be given to personnel with the required clearance level previously verified by the designated Security Manager. We are expecting approximately 113 attendees, so there is a slight chance of a delayed start if traffic or bottlenecks occur.
You are more than welcome to arrive early for stress free check-in.
The 298th MTFR Lodging accommodations have been made for personnel that requested lodging through the registration link.
Please be prepared to pay your lodging fee ($19 per night). The primary method of payment is through physical debit or credit card (no “tap” or mobile options). If you need to pay the lodging fees with cash, please be prepared to provide the exact amount.
To guarantee a pleasant stay, we recommend you pack the following items (linens will NOT be provided by the 298th MFTR lodging facility):
- Bed Sheets
- Pillow/Pillowcase
- Towels/wash cloth
- Toiletries items (toilet paper, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.)
- Cleaning supplies
2) Attire: Military: Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) or Army Aircrew Combat Uniform (A2CU) for all conference sessions.
3) Attire: Civilians: Business aloha for all conference sessions.
4) Hui Kama’ilio Social: The Hui Kama’ilio check-in will begin at 1630 with the event beginning at 1700 in the DFAC.
5) Attire: Evening Social Event (All): Aloha casual or Casual attire. Below are some examples of appropriate attire.
Prohibited:
- Clothing that is excessively short, revealing, tight, or baggy.
- Clothing containing obscene, discriminating, harassing, offensive or suggestive images or words.
- Clothing that is excessively torn or dirty.
- Clothing that is considered nightwear or sleepwear.
6) Food & Drinks: Refreshments and lunch will be provided for all paid attendees on both days. Dinner will be provided for the Hui Kama’ilio. Breakfast will be available for early risers on Friday, 13 September.
7) Parking: Please refer to attachment #1.
8) Restrooms: There are restrooms at the main entrance of both the DFAC and the Auditorium.
9) Special Instructions:
- No Personal Electronic Devices (PED) are allowed while attending designated conference sessions. We recommend leaving PED in your vehicle or at home.
- General and VIP parking will be directed by traffic control personnel.
- Individual wrist bands must always be visible.
- Drinks are allowed if they have a lid or cap. You are encouraged to bring hydroflasks, personal thermos and/or cups with lids.
- Group photo on Day 1 will be held in vicinity of the flagpole and cannons. For the photo there will be no hats or sunglasses.
