Major Projects

  • Hawaii Interagency Council on Homelessness (HICH): 
    Composed of state department directors, federal agency representatives, and community leaders, the HICH was tasked with providing solutions to end homelessness and strengthen the continuity of efforts to end homelessness across future State of Hawaii administrations.
  • Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD):
    The role of Hawaii VOAD is to bring organizations together and enable them to understand each other and work together before during and after a disaster.
  • Joint Venture Education Forum (JVEF):  
    The Joint Venture Education Forum (JVEF), a cooperative partnership between Hawaii’s military community, HIDOE and other community organizations                      
  • Work Development Council Youth Committee (WDC):
    To support the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Hawaii Unified State Plan recommendations and continuous improvement in youth programs.
  • Hawaii State Approving Agency:
    The function of this office is to approve educational facilities that wish to serve Veterans and their dependents who want to use the GI Bill to pay for their education, ensuring that these facilities are following all pertinent elements of federal regulation and providing a quality education to our Veterans.
  • Case Lot Sales:
    Coordinate the Defense Commissary Agency neighbor island case lot sales providing groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families in a safe and secure shopping environment.
