Doreen was returning to her original unit on the East Coast. A very adventurous young Airman, she applied for a full-time position with the then-154th Group&#8217;s Military Personnel Flight. She was accepted and moved to Hawai\u2018i. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her first days of work was interesting. It was after Hurricane Iniki hit Kaua\u2018i&nbsp;and Wai\u2018anae Coast on O\u2018ahu. The majority of the 154th Group and the 201st Combat Communications Group were mobilizing to support hurricane recovery operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She became an integral member of the MPF during her tenure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:10px\"><em>The appearance of external hyperlinks did not constitute endorsement by Retiree News, this included the linked websites, information, products, or services contained therein.
