Retiree News<\/em> asked Harold Fujii<\/strong> for some feedback about this photo of him with his family on the flightline taken quite a few years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good Morning – yup, long time ago, but brought back memories of some of the best times of my life – I believe the date was April 21, 1984 coming back from a deployment to Holloman AFB, New Mexico where we flew (Dissimilar Aircraft Combat Training (DACT) sorties in their ACMI air space – really cool and good flying – we were there for 2 weeks \u2013\u00a0Bruce \u201cAce\u201d Ellinwood<\/strong>\u00a0was the pilot and it does look like\u00a0Glenn Furuta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lauren<\/strong>\u00a0was 4 and now is 30 and a Noelani School teacher –\u00a0Larissa<\/strong>\u00a0was 2, now 28 and is a doctor finishing up her residency at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.\u00a0\u00a0It is hard to tell but my wife\u00a0Lorenne<\/strong>\u00a0was hapai with our son\u00a0Jared<\/strong>\u00a0who is now a 199th Fighter Squadron pilot.\u00a0\u00a0Thanks for the memories<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Harold began his Hawai\u2018i Air National Guard career as an airman in the 154th Consolidated Maintenance Squadron.  After commissioning, he completed Undergraduate Navigator Training and flew as a Weapon Systems Officer during the 199th Fighter Squadron\u2019s F-4C Phantom era.  After coming off flying status, Harold worked some staff positions before returning to flying as a navigator in the KC-135R Stratotankers with the 203rd Air Refueling Squadron.  Harold\u2019s last assignment was serving on HQ, Hawai\u2018i Air National Guard staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
