This one of the few photographs Retiree News has that shows a Deuce landing with drag chute deployed.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This photograph is undated but was probably from the early 1960s. The Deuces arrived in 1961 and other photographs dated 1964\/65 show aircraft with \u201cU.S. Air Force\u201d makings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The drag chute was new to flight operations. The Deuce replaced the F-86L Sabre Interceptor which did not use a drag chute. The parachute shop now packed these drag chutes in addition to individual parachutes for the pilots.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:10px\"><em>The appearance of external hyperlinks did not constitute endorsement by Retiree News, this included the linked websites, information, products, or services contained therein.
