The promotion ceremony was held at Washington Place with many of his friends, and current and former Guardmembers in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Known to most as \u201cDugie\u201d (<em>his call sign), <\/em>he served as a flight surgeon and later the commander of the 154th Medical Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the pinning ceremony, <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Brig. Gen. Ryan Okahara<\/strong><\/span> graciously yielded to Dugie\u2019s father, a retired fighter pilot.
