Judd, a Hawaii Air National Guard member, organized the current Royal Guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The unit made its first public appearance on November 16, 1963 at Iolani Palace to commemorate King David Kalakaua\u2019s birthday. The unit has posted the guard every year since. Uniforms and accouterments worn by the unit are exact replicas of King Kalakaua\u2019s Royal Guard.
