Girls Go CyberStart 2020 – Compete

Do you like solving puzzles?  Are you curious about cybersecurity? Do you like winning cool prizes?  ARE YOU INTERESTED IN SAVING THE WORLD? Hawaii’s young women in high school are encourage to participate in a fun and interactive series of cybersecurity challenges called Girls Go CyberStart.  This innovative program, developed by SANS Institute, will introduce and inspire participants to discover and learn about this exciting, high-demand and rewarding career field where women make up only a fraction of today's cybersecurity professionals.  Girls Go CyberStart, which is played online and only requires a computer and an internet connection, runs February 10 - April 17 2020. Entrants that excel in Girls Go CyberStart will be recognized and eligible to win cash prizes for themselves and their schools! Registration for Girls Go CyberStart started on December 2. 2019 and ends January 31, 2020. Participating students do not need prior cybersecurity knowledge or programming experience. All that is required is a computer and an internet connection. Here's the Girls Go CyberStart Competition Phases:
  • Signup - December 2, 2019 – January 31, 2020
  • Assess - January 13, 2020 to January 31, 2020
  • Game - February 10, 2020 to April 17, 2020
  • Compete - April 23, 2020 to April 24, 2020
