National Cybersecurity Awareness Month!
Held every October, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) is a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. For this year, NCSAM will emphasize personal accountability and stress the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at home and in the workplace. This year’s overarching message – Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT. – will focus on key areas including citizen privacy, consumer devices, and e-commerce security. Please join our community as we celebrate National Cyber Security Awareness Month this October! The State of Hawaii Department of Defense Office of Homeland Security, in partnership with the Hawaii State Public Library System, (ISC)2 Hawaii, AFCEA Hawaii and cybersecurity professionals, students and enthusiasts have come together to offer no-cost cyber safety events and activities where our community gathers. During this month, there will be free cyber safety events at our public libraries and shopping centers. For 2019, we will also be starting a program called CyberGenerations exclusively for our kupuna.See Presidential Proclamation on NCSAM 2019 HERE
