{"id":4743,"date":"2020-08-17T09:42:07","date_gmt":"2020-08-17T19:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dod.hawaii.gov\/hiema\/?p=4743"},"modified":"2026-05-01T12:11:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T22:11:18","slug":"news-release-siren-testing-on-hawaii-island-january-30-2020-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dod.hawaii.gov\/hiema\/news-release-siren-testing-on-hawaii-island-january-30-2020-2\/","title":{"rendered":"NEWS RELEASE: Siren testing on OAHU, AUGUST 19, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">August 17, 2020<br><br>HONOLULU \u2014 The Hawai&#8217;i Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA), together with the City and County of Honolulu Department of Emergency Management, will conduct siren testing at the following location and time on Wednesday, August 19, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.<p>\u2022 Frank Fasi Municipal Building<\/p><br><ol><br><li>Residents nearby may hear the siren sound for 30-seconds to 3-minute intervals during the identified timeframe. Testing will include short blasts known as \u201cburps.\u201d During the tests, Emergency Management Officials and Technicians will be checking the functionality of the siren. <br><br>These sirens were installed as part of HI-EMA\u2019s ongoing Outdoor Warning Siren Program.
