The declaration makes federal funding available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities damaged by severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides in Maui County.\u00a0 This declaration covers the period of September 11-14, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Assistance Program provides grants to state, local, and federally recognized tribal governments and certain private non-profit entities to assist them with the response to and recovery from disasters. Specifically, the program provides assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures, and permanent restoration of infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Federal funding is available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
