Afterschool Programs Present Opportunities to Grow the Cybersecurity Workforce

Posted on Aug 19, 2018 in Main

NICE Program Office.  Each day, over 10 million children participate in afterschool programs (sometimes called Out-of-School Time). Quality afterschool and summer programs across the U.S. offer community-driven, expanded learning opportunities that support developmentally appropriate cognitive, social, physical, and emotional outcomes. Afterschool programs can run directly after school, during evenings, weekends, summer vacations, or holidays. The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) will be hosting web-based discussions on afterschool programs that are helping students explore the topic of cybersecurity, possibilities of technology, and develop a plan to achieve their chosen careers.  This event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 8:00am – 9:00am (Hawaii Time).
