Hawaii Celebrates National Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) – observed every October – was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online. Since its inception under leadership from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security external link  and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) external link, NCSAM has grown exponentially, reaching consumers, small and medium-sized businesses, corporations, educational institutions and young people across the nation. Now in its 17th year, Cybersecurity Awareness Month continues to build momentum and impact co-led by NCSA and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA). external link

Please join our community as we celebrate NCSAM this October!  The State of Hawaii Department of Defense, Office of Homeland Security, in partnership with local cybersecurity professional associations, volunteers, educators, students and cybersecurity enthusiasts have come together to provide free and social-distance friendly community cyber safety virtual events and activities to include cyber safety presentations, challenges and career-based discussions. The public is encouraged to participate in these events and learn from resources provided by NCSA and CISA. For more information about these cyber safety activities, please view the Hawaii NCSAM Infographic starting NSCAM Week 1 (October 5th).
